I have been towing a Nissan Sentra using a Falcon Towbar.

I recently bought a 2004 Honda Pilot and had a Roadmaster Towing bracket installed. I have considered buying a new Falcon 2 towbar but if the current one has sufficent strength, I would rather keep it.

Do the math. You have 600 pounds difference between TB rating and weight of toad.

Is the 4400#'s dry or full of all fluids and cargo? If so you're OK, if not then get a Sterling (6,000#'s) that's what we tow with.

Bill,

I'm using that same setup to pull our Acura MDX which is basically the same as the pilot. Not problems here and have towed it thousands of miles in the last year. The car tows very well too.... really suprised me that I could pull that heavy a car behind our 31 foot gasser without even really telling it was back there. Good Luck!

You are probably OK but if you travel with items in the Pilot you could easily go over 5000 lbs. In addition to the weight of the Pilot you have to consider the weight of the towbar, tow bracket, toad brake system, baseplate and any accessories or things in the toad.

I went with an 8000 lb. Roadmaster Blackhawk but if already owned the Falcon I would use it. With that said I weighed my MDX once and it was 5300 lbs. although Acura said it weighs 4450. I have added sidesteps and had it loaded down with a bike rack, two bikes, X-Mas presents in the back, ski rack with two sets of ski's, and the Brake Buddy, so it was well over 5000 lbs. on that trip.

If I had a 5000 lb tow bar I would be sure to put as much as I could in the MH instead of the toad.
