The toilet in my Lance 845 has sprung a leak. I haven't had a chance to dig into it yet( sounds like fun, Huh?), but it looks like the leak is from the base of the toilet where it attaches to the wet shower. Or at least that is where the leak shows up, the water in the bowl leaks down and travels, not down into the tank but clings along the inside somewhere and leaks out at the base. It flushes fine... everything goes into the tank. It is only when you leave some water in the bowl that it slowly leaks out.
So how does the bowl seal? Is it with some sort of replacable O-ring. Do I have to remove the toilet to fix this?
Help me out of this crappy situation, please!

The opening is sealed with a blade that exerts pressure against a rubber seal on the bottom of the bowl to keep water in it. The quickest and easiest way to clean it is to lightly scrub it with water a scotch-brite pad (no soap) to remove anything that may be breaking the seal. It's not always bad, it could simply be hard water build-up. If you are sure you are losing water out of the bowl, this is the seal that you need to check.
There is another seal between the toilet and the floor. This is a lot like a household toilet with a closet flange and a rubber seal. If your toilet is loose or the seal is damaged this could allow water to seep out. You might check that your toilet is firmly secured, but don't overtighten the bolts or you will be replacing the fixture.
After saying all of that, I don't think it is the water in the bowl that you are seeing. I say this because the inside of the toilet body is designed to funnel anything that comes through the hole in the bowl directly into the tank. When my toilet started leaking, I put food coloring into the bowl when it was full of water and sure enough, the water on the floor was clear, not colored. My water valve on the back of the toilet was cracked and leaking. Water would run down the back of the toilet on to the floor and then around the base of the toilet. I swore it was coming from underneath the toilet and removed it and went through the entire thing before discovering the source of the leak. I ended up replacing the whole thing because it was cheaper and easier than fixing a 20 year old unit.

If it is a Thetford, it is probably the water ball valve. They come apart.
They run about forty bucks. You have to remove the toilet on most models. After that it is easy. About two srews and a clip plus two waterlines.
Water not staying in bowl, could be debris in blade valve seat. Take an old coat hanger, bend a 90 in a short piece about a foot long with about a one inch end at 90. Insert this one inch piece into blade valve track while holding blade valve open. Clean out debris carefully don't damage seal.

My Lance 815 leaked, but it was the connection from the closet flange to the black tank, and it caused black water to puddle on top of the black tank. There was also insufficient sealant under the closet flange which allowed the shower water to leak under the toilet and puddle in the same location as the other leak. Your leak sounds like it may be what the others have suggested. My input is that it is not hard to disassemble, to get to the bottom of it, so to speak. 2 nuts hold the toilet to the closet flange and one ferrule nut for the water line. You could easily pull the toilet out to investigate further. Possibly hook up some LOW pressure air to see if it is the water valve on the toilet. Let us know if we can offer more help.

Just replaced the valve at rear if my toilet, developed a crack in the assembly, around $40.00, and 1.5 hrs. to replace it. Common problem with the older toilets. That valve is the first thing to go if you forget to flush out the water, when you winterize or like we do here in nothern Mich. get an early freeze. James K
