I just bought a older Holiday Rambler with the old Dexter Star pattern Rims. Has anyone had any proplems with getting tire service. I'm afraid of getting a flat and not being able to find a tire store to replace the tire when I'm away from home.

I'm not sure what you mean by Dexter Star pattern, but my 2005 Dutchmen has 5-spoke (Star Pattern) aluminum rims and is on Michelin trailer tires.

They stop useing the star pattern in the 80's. The RV Star pattern had a cut out in the center that looked like a 4 point star. The 4 Lug bolts were clear out almost to the rim. The wheels ride on the hub face not on the studs like a modern rim. For a 14" rim like mine the bolts circle would be over 8 inches.

With the advent of all the "Fancy" wheels for cars and SUV's most tire stores now have a "Rim Clamp Tire Changer that doesn't use the center hole to attach wheel. Ther should be no problem in any tire store getting these wheels serviced. Age will be an important factor with this type of wheel. Might want to have them inspected for rust in the bead area as well as cracking at welds.

Right now its looking like I going to changing Axles. No one I have talked with has any idea if parts are even adaviable for my Hub/brakes. I would love to pull the hubs and measure the spindle to see if I can upgrade to a 5 on 4.5 pattern and new brake assembly. But if I can't and no seals or bearings are advible than I have a very large paper weight in my yard that I can't take anywhere to get new axles.

I have the same situation. I am in the process of changing out the entire axle, hubs and all, but more for the reason of wanting electric brakes.
My pop-up has 175/80R13 tires and rims.
Are you interested in the tires/rims/entire axle and hubs for spare parts?
They are all in good working order.

I found some 355 axles last year for 160.00 each with brakes!! If you look around you can find them. I wish I had the guys name, but I don't. I have used one of the trailers more than my camp trailer will see in 10 years and have not had any problems

Hi I have also just purchased an older trailer with 4 bolt star pattern dexter rims. The ones that I have are 15". Is it still possible to get spares?

I bought a 74 Prowler last year and had 4 new tires put on this type rim, with no problems. And I think spares would could be purchased from a RV salvage store.

Yes. but your going to pay thru the nose. I found a couple places that have them a 15 inch in ranges from $150 to $175.

RV Surplus Salvage in Elkart IN has 13 and 15 rims in stock.

As an update I bought a set of Goodyear tires and I'm going to run the old rims for a couple years.
