Just picked up our 3505 SLC (aluminum side) and boy, our F-350 sure did squat when we hooked up. Hubby came home and raised the hitch a couple inched so the 5er looks a little more level, but he's saying he'll have to do something to bring the truck up some. He's thinking about having a leaf spring or two added or maybe some airbags. What have you done?

The ride will be aweful with extra springs. You can deflate the bags though, for a "nice" ride, when ran alone.

I've heard great things about the air bags (softer ride, plenty of lift, optional compressor for on demand adjustments).

Added leafs will lift rear end, but will also produce stiffer ride.

Airbags for sure. Make sure he gets a heavy duty compressor though cause the compressor that came with my airlift kit is ridiculously slow.

Don't forget to include Timbren on your list of things to consider.

Timbren

Not sure about the F350, but on my Chevy 2500 you have about 2 inches of space before they load up, so when you run empty they are not in use - put some weight in the back like a trailer or 5th wheel and the keep you level.

Anyhow, my 2 cents worth...

I have airbags which work well to level the truck. As for improving ride quality - nothing. They are not intended to improve ride quality, as such. If you think it rides better, then it rides better.

Back to your squatting. Could it be that you are exceeding the GVWR of your TV? Just a thought.

Many toy haulers come with a warning that you must have some toys in the back to equalize the weight or you will exceed the rating on the pin hitch. Check your manual

How about the hitch? Is it set up correctly? Do you need more angle in the hitch or another link in the WD chains?

I got a set of firestone air bags in Las Vegas at "Skips Spring Service" for $300 + tax. They are very simple to install. I had them on in about 1 hour with hand tools. The cost of the bags is about the same wherever you go, but they rape you on labor to install them. I got quotes from $150-$300 labor.

I have loved every second of them. highly recomended.
