Colorado has several versions of fishing licenses for "guests".

Almost any place that sells sporting goods (fishing supplies) has them for sale.

In Texas State Parks, you can fish free--no license. If you fish in public water out of the parks, you must purchase a license and short term out of state are available.

Pretty much all states have provisions for visitors to get short term licenses. If you come here to Virginia or to North Carolina to do some ocean/surf fishing, be advised they do REQUIRE you to obtain a 'Salt Water' license, which would be a seperate license from the 'Fresh Water' version!!

In Minnesota (at least) you can buy a temporary out-of-state license anyplace you can buy a regular license --- bait shops, Cabelas, county offices, resorts, etc.

the last time I checked in MN when I wanted a temp license it was $20 or so for a few days, and that was years ago.
Missouri had the best system IIRC. there you could get it for as many days as you wanted, for about $1 a day.

Here's a link to the MD DNR website that has done the homework for you. They have most state's fees listed.

I hope this helps! Tight Lines!

Utah has limited day licenses. They can be purchased on line from the Utah DWR or any local walmart and many other local stores.

As one who has worked part time in a store that sells fishing/hunting lic.... The charge is set by the state, not the store. In Maryland, the fee is reciprocal, meaning, whatever a state charges us for an out of state license, we charge their citizens when they come here . One last thing, it goes by where your drivers license is issued from. It doesn't matter if you own property here or not!
I'm sure it's the same elsewhere.

I was wrong on one thing, Virginia fishing license can be combinded for fresh & salt water fishing. Rates for non-residents is flat-rate, doesn't matter what state you are from...

Pay attention to the cost differences.

We found that some states we are likely to return (or stay longer than a few days) during the license year had a better deal for us to just buy a one year non-resident license.

FL also requires a separate salt water and fresh water license.

The MO costs quoted are rather out-dated though.
