Was out in TT today getting ready for trip, figured Id check AC filter
When I took the cover down I noticed that the foil divider between the intake and duct side was loose. So I took the entire shroud down and what did I find? The ducting for the unit was not even sealed to the air box.( just sitting there in the opening) No wonder air flow didnt seem right!
So went to Lowes got some foil tape and proceeded to tape the ducts to the airbox, secured the divider and sealed it. also before I started putting the tape on I sprayed in some of the expanding foam insulation (blue can, Minimal expansion) into the hollow area around the cutout for the AC.
Long story short. The AC works A whole lot better now that we are putting the cooled air in the TT and not trying to cool the area between the ceiling and the roof!!!
Just thought I would pass this along, might be something to look at on one of those days you just need something to do!
Spent about an hour doing the job all together. Sure did make A difference in the cooling espicially up front in the bedroom.

Unfortunately this problem is a very common one as manufacturers cut corners during production....

I had pretty close to the same issue. Air flow was minimal at best. When I opened the AC up, to my suprise I found that the hamster was missing from the little wheel.

OK....you guys have me thinking...I'm going to put an AC inspection on my "to do" list. At my current rate, I should get to it about November....2010! LOL
Seriously, though, based upon the other "short cuts" I've seen taken on the assembly of our rig, I am expecting to find the same as you have found. I'll be VERY pleasantly surprised to find otherwise.
Thanks for the tip.

I found my Laredo to be exactly the same way. The ceiling and the roof stayed pretty cool until I fixed the problem like you did.
