It takes no time at all to run the slides in and then out...Don't get lazy and possibly cost ourself some money in repairs.

I've watched dealers move display rigs around their lots with the slides out using a tractor with the roughest ride going over potholes. They don't seem concerned that unseen damage may be ocurring to show up later after you've bought the rig. Having said this, I don't move my rig an inch with the slides out because my truck is not always the most gentle when it commences to move with it's ceramic disc clutch plates and higher than average torque. With an automatic tranny in todays pick-ups, I would probably not think twice about doing it the distance you're stating over flat ground after checking for obstructions.
Today is just the tomorrow you worried about yesterday!

All flat concrete pad. A few branches but if they hit anything it would be the roof. Have to talk to maintenance to see if they could cut the branches anyway. Do not care for some critters coming off the tree. Would have to undo and move the PC and printer.
Thanks for the replies!

On a nice flat concrete pad I wouldn't worry one bit about moving 6-8 feet with the slides out. I've done it a few times.

It would have taken less time to move the slide than it did to make a post on RV.net. It would have taken less time to move the trailer and put the slide back out than to read the replies.

The instructions that I have for my RV states "Level and put stabilizers down before putting slide out" For the two min it takes to put the slide in , I would
not take a chance. I would put the slide in !!

Apparently all who say it only takes two or three minutes to put slides in don't move anything around inside. Yes it only takes that time to actually move the slides but by the time I move the chairs, TV, light fixture, etc. I could have moved the trailer and been drinking a cool one. As others have said, check carefully, then move. I think some people are way, way, way, way too careful--beyond reason. Move the thing and have a cool one.
