My brother finally decided on a fiver. He will be pulling it with a Ford F 250 HD w/tow pkg and V10. The weight of the fifth is around 6000 lbs.
The dealer will install either a Curt Mfg. 16K hitch or a Pull Rite Super 5th hitch 16K.
Is there a preference among you users as to which to install?
Thanks

Not familiar with the Curt. But you can't go wrong with the PullRite Super 5th. Of course I have one and am a little partial. But it is a great hitch.

Have a PullRite SG.
Happy with it - no complaints.
(Lots of research before purchase).
Never had a Curt - so can't compare the two.
Try a search on each for more "reading material".

the larger capacity Curts are popular with commecial haulers. Either brand will work as advertized.

I have the 16K Curt. It has the sliding bar to lock in the king pin. You can not lock the hitch closed with a padlock. I don't have any issues with it. I suspect it is made in CHINA as reported for the Curt Q5 20K hitch.
Many say the sliding bar is inferior to a wrap around the pin design and will concentrate wear in one spot on the pin and the bar. Also any slop in the engagement can create clunking noises. One positive thing is that it is very easy to verify the pin is latched in the hitch.
I watched the video of the pullRite at their site and have to say I like the way it holds the pin. Much pricier hitch though. I did not realize that PullRite made a conventional fifth wheel hitch (if you can call anything from that company conventional; better choice would be innovative. I wonder if they are American made?
I may look into buying one myself if so.

I went the cheap route ($500 delivered) with the Curt 20k pulling an 18K trailer. Seems to be a decent enough hitch. No problems so far, first season.

I would go with the Pull Rite the hitch has been awesome and the customer service is above and beyond. I had something put a gouge in one of my rails and contacted them to get a replacement (I was going to buy it) and they replaced both rails and shipped them to me at no cost.
