We have an 07 Montego Bay that we are full timing in for going on 2 years. The only complaint about it is the slide motors. They seem to be somewhat "cranky". We've had the LR slide (the biggest) motor replaced twice and the opposite side slide motor replaced once. We have worked with Robert Carter at they KZ plant on all three of these issues. He has been wonderful. He is the VP for warranty stuff on Montego Bay and Escalade trailers. Twice the slides have been "stuck" out, necessitating that KZ overnight the motor. We've paid for the repairs and KZ has sent us a check to reimburse us each time, usually within the week.

Our opinion is that the KZ MB trailer is a well made trailer and we love it, however, we are not too sure about the slide motors.

I have had a Montego Bay since May of this year. The unit has been exceptional for us. From the day we took delivery to today we have had NO major problems related to the build or construction. When we picked up the trailer , it was doing a wheely down the road. Part to my truck beeing to high in the rear and part to the unit sitting lower. I contacted Mor/Ryde and asked them how easy it wqas to rase the system. bottom line I did not have much luck doing it myself so they sent me to a local repair shop who had done work for them. I contacted Bob Carter at KZ and explained the issue to him. We both agreed that KZ was not responsible to do the repair, but he told me to get the job done and send him the bill and he will reimburse us for what he thought was a resonable sum. well , the job was more than I figured and we needed 4 new shocks to make the bill about $ 520.00. I had a check in my mailbox IN FULL with in 2 weeks of contacting KZ. I could not be any more happier with the unit or the company!! Joe

We don't think you can go wrong with KZ. We've had our Escalade for almost 3 years and it's held up well and we fulltime in it.....

We just celebrated our 1 year anniversary with our Montego Bay (2008 MB 36 REB-3). If I had to do it again I would not change a thing.

I've never had to bring my 5ver in for repairs. Actually, the ONLY thing I've had to repair is the outside electrical outlet. I was able to do it myself.

My wife and I are very pleased with the quality. We are also pleased with K-Z's support. I've called K-Z with a couple of questions about proper use, etc. and K-Z has been very responsive and eager to help. It is my position that K-Z can afford to be so supportive because they build a quality product. Other brands that are not focused on quality but numbers sold can't afford to offer that kind of support because it would destroy/bankrupt the company.

In summary, their quality and support are outstanding. Even in the current market conditions, they appear to be doing very well. From my perspective it is a very SAFE purchase.

We have owned a 2008 K-Z Montego Bay since November 2007 - we continue to be very happy with the unit. It is our third 5er having owned a Cedar Creek and a Titanium. While we were happy with those trailers, the Montego Bay is the best yet. The only problem we have had was with the MOR/ryde suspension, and that was resolved quickly with great co-operation between MOR/ryde, K-Z, and our dealer (great guys) at Get-Away RV in Abbotsford, British Columbia. We have absolutely no reservations about recommending the Montego Bay.

We are owners of an '07 MB 34 rlb-3, purchased last June from Sherman RV in Sherman, MS. Best dealership I have ever worked with, even though I live 400 miles away. We are "part-timers" or seasonal campers, and the Montego Bay has been the perfect unit for us. It is very high quality at its price level, has been very comfortable in all ranges of weather and pulls great. The two year warranty was a big selling point, but all we have needed so far was a gray tank cable replaced (it came apart).

The only real issue I have had is that the drawer guides were very cheap and did not hold up to traveling with any weight in them. When I noticed in their brochure that K-Z had upgraded to a roller-bearing guide, I wrote Bob Carter and asked him for the parts so that I could install them myself. Within a few days a complete set of guides was at my doorstep, at no expense to me.

Some extra insulation in the walls would be nice (there is a condensation pattern on the outside on cold mornings), but overall we have been very pleased with our Montego Bay. I think you're going to have to spend a lot more money to get a substantially better unit, but I doubt you are going to find a better company to work with.

We have had our 07 Montego Bay 34RLB3 since April 07. Have pulled it about 3,500 miles.

No problems with any of the three slides. There was once an Escalade at a park we stayed at in TX and the park owner said it was waiting on a return trip back to the factory by an RV hauler for slide problems. So hopefully ours will remain trouble free.

Have fixed a few minor problems ourself such as drawer slide support anchoring. There is a problem with cable TV feed; the satellite cable is fine; I'll probably fix it too.

We raised the fiver by 2" by moving the springs and Mor/ryde equalizer to the lower holes for the spring perch and equalizer. Had to replace shocks with different ones.

The black water valve would not shut properly from day one; it had a hard ring of excess glue from the PVC sewer pipe assembly that broke loose and made its way into the valve opening.

The smoke detector didn't work; KZ sent replacement.

The central vacuum cleaner toolkit was missing at PDI; KZ sent replacement.

Water pump fittings were loose and leaking; I tightened them. Water line from pump "grounded' on the sewer hose tube; I adjusted.

I found labels for remote valves labeled (IIRC) waste water and sewer water confusing; I relabeled them "Grey Water" and "Black Water." The built in black tank water flush works great.

Door handle to toilet room did not have lock; replaced with lockable doorset.

Electric awning has worked great; sliding basement tray really maximizes basement storage. 12 gal hot water heater is large for RV; I notice they are now listing 16 gallon! I see posts complaining about slide awnings; but no sagging or wind flapping issue with ours.

We have the double wide refrigerator with ice-maker. Since many campgrounds seem to have too much chlorine in their water we end up using the ice for coolers vs. drinks. That is another thing I fixed; the fridge doors were not square with each other (not parallel nor at same aligned height). I'm picky; took a file to elongate hinge slots and some pin shims....

The landing gear motor is noisy (compared to my son-in-law's) and will trip the circuit breaker during a long lift (not to limits either); it self resets in couple of minutes.

The only thing I would change about our purchase if I could turn the clock back is to have requested the Chinese tires be removed and replaced with the optional Goodyear G614 tires. It now has the G614 tires after both right side tires blew during two different incidents.

The 09 36RLM is the same floorplan as our 07 34RLB3. Ours measures 37.5 ft long from the FifthAirborne to the rear ladder and is 13'3" tall at the bedroom airconditioner. Ours weighs 14,000 normally loaded and has a 16,000 GVWR. It is generator and washer/dryer ready so should be able to handle those items if we were to add them. Some other brands of fivers we looked at had too little additional carrying capacity because they had too small of axles.

Elsewhere many complain about our Oklahoma roads; they are rough as all getout in far too many places. We leave the coffee pot on the counter and it stays there. I think the Mor/Ryde equalizer, shocks and FifthAirborne help with a smooth ride.

I would recommend the Montego Bay. We are very pleased with ours.

Bob
