We have a NDA1402 in our 07 Holiday Rambler Imperial and it is constant source of problems. The error codes just keep coming, the ice maker has never worked ,even after replacement. The defrost system does not work well and the defrost heaters are a big problem. The frig. never gets as cold as our old Norcold in the 03 Itasca. I am about ready to replace th whole frig.. Has anyone had similar problems with this model and what did you do to resolve them. If you replaced your frig. what model did you choose. Thanks , we are ready for a frig. to simply work.

You need to find another Dometic Service center. The ONLY defrost heater that has had a problem has been the Code 13 heater which Dometic redesigned. Doug

We have one of those 1402's too. Don't like it. When it dies, I'm replacing it with a standard refrigerator and be done with the problems. We're getting intermittent CALL 13 errors, they come and go and are impossible to predict when we'll get one.

We've had blown fuses and these CALL 13 errors. It gets plenty cold though, so at least we can use the thing.

The ER13 will not stop the operation of the refrigerator. You will get a buildup of ice under the freezer cooling unit though. I carefully would defrost the ice wilth a hair drier in under ten minutes.
My drain heater was replaced my a Dometic tech in Wakarusa, at Demartini. The tech also installed a very small fan in the freezer which runs when the door is closed. Since the installation of the fan the ice maker is definitely more productive.

I am not disputing your post but I have a err 12 on it right now. Also a freezer fan not working that was due to a skimpy wiring set up with poor conections. A leaking defrost drain that had allowed a back flow of water and thus refreezing the drains and then into the coach floor. New ice maker just installed, made less than a handfull of ice before it stopped again. The only things that have worked flawlessly are the water dispenser in the door and the ice auger. On its best day this frig. will not keep ice cream frozen. The previous owner had the entire refrig. system replaced before we purchased the MH. Dometic charges a lot of money for this frig. and it should be their best but it fails to do the basic fuctions reliably.

I have the same refer in my 05 Newmar Northern Star. Went to Newmar factory with similar problems. Dometic had them throw parts at it for 2 weeks before Dometic reluctantly replaced it with a new unit. The new one works great. the fishman

1. Code 12 is a bad heat element in the fresh food compartment.
2. ICE CREAM will not get hard in both Norcold and Dometic RV refers. The operational range of a RV freezer is 0 to 10 degrees. HARD Ice Cream has to have a temp below 0 degrees. To get harder Ice Cream, buy the square block type and lay it against the back wall of the freezer.
3. Repairing of an appliance is only as GOOD as the "technician" repairing it. If the Tech does NOT know what he is doing, then he can cause OTHER problems when he is repairing the original problem.
4. WHAT does the LED temp read out show for the refer and the freezer?
5. There is an optional freezer fan that Dometic will authorize to be installed when you have low harvest of Ice.

Mine wouldn't work on AC, one time, so I went outside and started pulling, and checking fuses. Couldn't find anything, BUT, when I had my wife hit the on button, it magically worked. For all the nasayers out there (about extended warranties), that is why I purchased (from Dometic) and extended 3 year factory warranty for 245 bucks. I now have a 6 year FACTORY warranty on this monster. Robbie P.S. because it took 24 hours to cool down before loading for the last trip, I'm in the process of installing 2 computer type fans to blow across the coils in the lower outside compartment. Hopefully, this will cut the cool-down time.

Speaking of Dometic, my $1,300.00 Royale series double door ref/freezer has flimsy plastic latches to keep doors closed that COST $82.00 each to replace...easy to break and I am now at $328.00 plus tax to replace four times broken. Outrageous and Dometic should hang their head. Needless to say my attempts to have Dometic even address this design?? faiure have been to NO avail.
