My husband and I are tossing around the idea of(in a couple years) buying a large jayco (40 ft). Right now we have a 33ft TT, and we love it, but it is one bunk short and we are thinking of having one more child. Anyway...I was concerned that it might be a park model. http://www.jayco.com/php/products/photo.gallery.php?id=180 We were trying to decide between buying a vacation home, and buying a new TT. We are leaning more towards buying a TT because we want to travel more than to one destination. The other nice thing about a TT is that our family can stay in it when they come to visit.
Are the 40ft tt's harder to pull than a 33ft? What makes a tt a 'park model'. We liked it because it has a W/D, bunks, lots of space, and is nice enough to be a guest house when family comes to visit (which they do alot). But would it bad for traveling with? I would dearly love to have your oppinions! Thanks!

Take a look at the Silverbacks. They have a dbl slide bunkhouse that is absolutely huge! You just better make sure you have a TV that is up to the task. It is quite heavy. It is really nice and pretty reasonably priced. You can get a lot of room in a shorter trailer with multiple slides.

To my knowledge, park models have no holding tanks, since they are designed to sit in one place and be permanently attached to the utilities.
Bear in mind that the longer the trailer you get, the fewer campsite options you leave yourself. We have found that we cannot camp in some of our old favorites, now that we have a 34' instead of a 23'. And if you opt for a heavy trailer, you will need a very beefy tow vehicle.

I have always known park models to not have tanks either, but I believe Jayco's are the exception, if I remember right. Even their park models come with tanks. Park models seem to come with features that are less durable when being constantly moved around, the most prominent of which are exterior sliding glass doors.

That looks like a park model to me. It has a residential refrigerator. They typically have sliding doors on them like that.

Park models come with or without holding tanks... even the twelve wide’s...
in many counties, CG's have a requirement that all trailers have holding tanks... some even say they must be fully self contained...
most park models have home type fridge and some have household hot water tanks and stoves...

the bungalow is a park model, but is fully self contained. one more way to tell a park model from the outside is the windows on the hitch side of the trailer, no rock cover for the glass on a park model.

A park model IS NOT designed to tow from place to place on a regular basis.

We just bought the Forest River 351BHT with an overall length of 39'10". She has 3 slide outs and weights in at 9600 dry. Make sure you have a TV large enough for it!
