We are the proud new owners of a Sierra 335QBQ. However, when we got home with it on Friday afternoon we were disappointed to learn that we could not get into our driveway. Unfortunately before I figured this out I ripped one of the stabilizer jacks off of the brand new rig. I had to remove the second one to even get into our driveway!
I am now working to improve the grade going into my asphalt driveway but also want to improve clearance under the 5er. The factory jacks are the 7500# scissor jacks. They hang down 5-6" under the frame. I am wondering if anyone knows of a jack style that would tuck up under (between the frame rails) the 5er. I am open to something that I would have to install each time I set-up. However, it would obviously be better to have something installed permanently.
Thanks in advance,

Since the rear are just 'stabalizer' not lifting, you might consider having a piece of angle iron welded to the face of the frame raising it up a couple inches and attach the stabalizer to it rather than under the frame. This might get you over the hurdle of your driveway slope.

Or move them forward. If they are closer to the wheels they may not be the first things to hit the ground

Mine aren't sissor jacks, they are the other kind - don't know what they're called. They only hang down about 4". Some of the stabilizers like mine are better than others. Some have side braces that are spread far apart to form a stronger triangle. You can also buy a wheel kit for the back end of yours so it rolls up/down the inclines but you might still need lower profile stabilizer, too. Craig

Something else that needs mentioning; Is your new fiver level when hooked up? If, later you find you hadn't noticed the rig was sitting slightly high at the front and you needed to raise your pinbox in it's frame to level the camper, you would have solved your rear drag problem anyway.
Today is just the tomorrow you worried about yesterday!

We have to go through a deep grade to get into our storage building. On our last trailer we tore one off and the dealer welded the jacks forward. They no longer drug, and still did the job.
