HI All,

I am looking to put at least one vent cover on my MH; I rarely open the vent over the bunk so think it would be good to put one there.

I was at CW and saw both 'models'. What are your thoughts about buying a Ramble cover, as it is less expensive.

Also, which color lets in the most light? Least light?

Thanks much,

Diane

I was looking at both a few weeks ago and went with the MaxAir.

The Ramble one had a bigger 'footprint' that would have interfered with one of the plumbing vents that is really close to the roof vent.

Also, the MaxAir had a longer warranty IIRC. I chose the basic white since it is in the bathroom the light didn't matter. I did see smoked ones though for more $$

Hi I purchased the Ramble cover because it has air flow on three sides and I bought a white one thinking it would be better than the smoke colored one. When I installed mine I cut some 1/4 inch plywood strips to space the unit off the roof. After the installation remove them. If it sits on the roof it will chafe te rubber roof. Mine is one year old and no problems with it.

I have both brands installed and thus far (3+ years) they both appear to be durable but as mentioned before, the Ramble cover has ventilation flow on three sides. In both cases, I purchased what was most economical at the time.

I never fasten my vent covers down to the roof, I use the L brackets and mount them to the aluminum vent frame sides. but if you rarely open the vent, why put a cover on it?

I've had the MaxAir on both of my trailers. Easy to install, and actually helps the covers last longer. I went with the smoke color for vanity (black a/c covers, etc. grey trailer)

I went with 2 MaxxAir II covers, liked the hinged hardware and the increased air flow design. I went with the smoke color over the white to let in a little more light.

Hi all,

Thanks for your feedback. To clarify...I would like to open the vent over the bed but I store all my blankets, etc there so I only keep it open for short times. So with a vent cover I could keep it open more and have better circulation.

Yeah I was thinking I should go with white since my MH is mostly white and a/c cover is white....

I got two Ramblers two years ago and they are just fine. No need to pay extra for a name.

Two Ramble vent covers last year. Got white because white was on sale for $19.00. They had a foot of snow on top of them, went to Florida and came back with no problems. The vents do not open quite as far as they use to, but give enough ventilation. One is over the fantastic fan, and it works fine at all speeds. You could mount with a hinge on one side so you can open them to clean inside. I am planning on buying 3 more one of these days when I am near a Camping World. Good deal imho!
