I have 2 mister kits I bought on line. They are all plastic less the brass fittings (or nozzles). It was cheap enough. I plugged one into the other and made it ling enough to cover the whole awning. It just screws into the outside shower. I had an issue with the water pump. When the pump cycles off the time it would take to turn back on the pressure would drop to a point where the nozzles did not mist, rather they just dripped. So I adjusted the pressure upward a bit. I still noticed that the spray would surge and drop when the pump would cycle. So I installed a water accumulator. Now it works great. Used the system twice last year at the lake in 100+ temps. On a 4-day trip I did not have a water consumption issue. Like jeepgeek pointed out the consumption rate is quite low. If anyone wants to see it in action I will be at Lake San Antonio North Shore Overflow on 7-16 to 7-19. You can’t miss my rig…lol

2BlueHeelers,
I believe I still have the box the kit came in. Unfortunately it is at my shop. I will look for it tomorrow and not only give you a website, I should be able to give you the model numbers.

I used the kit from Lowes. It works great! Water usage does not seem to be that bad. But with 150 gl capacity, I have plenty. It did not cost that much either.

I picked up a portable system from Home Depot a couple of years ago for about $20. It has clips that attach nicely to the edge of the awning fringe.
I then tee'd off of the water line that runs to the external shower with a dedicated shut-off and hose fitting.
The system has maybe 6-8 nozzles and doesn't use very much water. The pump will cycle on for a minute or so about every 10-15 mins. Works GREAT though when it's 90+ in the dunes!

Still thinking about a mister system, I already have all the fittings/jets/hoses/etc for the misters, just picked up a booster pump and water filter. The booster pump is supposed to put out about 150PSI, but I need to get water from the 55gal barrel in the bed of the truck to the booster pump at 25PSI. Looking online for a small 110v pump that will suck water from the barrel and feed the mist system at 25 psi is baffeling to say the least, Flojet and Shurflow both have 110V pumps very similar to the 12V pumps in our RV's, but I am looking for something with lower volume, any ideas??
Looking at a completely independent setup that is portable (portable as a 55gal drum of water can be), I have a 2K Honda genny to power it. I want to be able to use it for the T H awning and an "easy up" when at DEZ race pits. I need to decide soon if this will work, as I might need to return the booster pump if not.
Nather and I saw a slick setup on Saturday, PVC pipe with caps on both ends and a quick dissconnect fitting that is used to fill the pipe with water and air pressure, then the mist system plugged into the fitting.
Thanks in advance for any ideas on a pump setup.

Bob, another thought regarding what Dawgcatcher has. Why not connect the air compressor to your water storage tank? A friend of mine used a blue plastic barrel that sounds like what you have to haul added water and used that to transfer to his MH. Run a diptube down into the barrel and install a shrader or ball valve with air hose connection and regulated air supply. The air compressor will cycle on its own controls, pressurize the water tank and push the water throught the misters, pressure is regulated by air pressure. Should work great and we always need air. Think I'll look around for a barrel myself now.
