The booster pump is supposed to put out about 150PSI, but I need to get water from the 55gal barrel in the bed of the truck to the booster pump at 25PSI. Looking online for a small 110v pump that will suck water from the barrel and feed the mist system at 25 psi is baffeling to say the least, Flojet and Shurflow both have 110V pumps very similar to the 12V pumps in our RV's, but I am looking for something with lower volume, any ideas??
Looking at a completely independent setup that is portable (portable as a 55gal drum of water can be), I have a 2K Honda genny to power it. I want to be able to use it for the T H awning and an "easy up" when at DEZ race pits. I need to decide soon if this will work, as I might need to return the booster pump if not.
Nather and I saw a slick setup on Saturday, PVC pipe with caps on both ends and a quick dissconnect fitting that is used to fill the pipe with water and air pressure, then the mist system plugged into the fitting.
Thanks in advance for any ideas on a pump setup.
Bob, another thought regarding what Dawgcatcher has. Why not connect the air compressor to your water storage tank? A friend of mine used a blue plastic barrel that sounds like what you have to haul added water and used that to transfer to his MH. Run a diptube down into the barrel and install a shrader or ball valve with air hose connection and regulated air supply. The air compressor will cycle on its own controls, pressurize the water tank and push the water throught the misters, pressure is regulated by air pressure. Should work great and we always need air. Think I'll look around for a barrel myself now.
Sounds like an good idea, I only need low pressure in the barrel to get water to the booster pump. I was thinking along those lines, just using my small portable compresser (I have a good one) to fill the "tank" as needed.
DON'T buy a 55 gallon drum/barrel, I can get you one or two as needed.

What about a small submersible fountain pump? I've seen them in many different sizes.

I have looked at a few, just can't seem to get any specs on the rated psi, only volume and how many inches or feet it will lift the water.
Thanks

To convert feet of lift or "head" as we call it to PSI multiply by .4335. So if the pump says it will lift water five feet it will produce 2.1675 PSI. Don't think you'll find a fountain pump that will do the job. Remember the pump still needs to lift the water from the tank to the misters (about 8').
Bob,
If your little compressor has a regulator you're all set. I jut got one on sale at Harbor Freight for $50.00 that has a regulator. Can you grab me two of those barrels please? I want one to play around with this mister deal and an associate at work wants one for the water storage idea I posted.

Sooo, after some testing today.
Simple system (NOT the cheapest), Lowes has a high pressure water pump and high pressure mister system.
Pump $100
Mister kit, 5 nozzels and assorted stuff $35
Filter $10
Cheap 15' water hose $7
3/4" PVC to hose fitting <$1.00
I glued the hose adaptor to the 3/4" ball valve on the fresh water tank drain, ran the garden hose over to the pump, hooked up the mister system and plugged in the pump to the mister hose and 110V
Works beeechin!!
Plan "B", possibly cheaper and more portable.
Small 110V air compressor with a adjustable regulator at Home Depot $100
55 gal plastic soap barrel, Free from local car wash etc ??
A handfull of brass bushings to get from 2" pipe down to 1/4" pipe fitting. I put a quick dissconnect air compressor fitting on this end.
Another 2" pipe to 3/4" bushing and a male 3/4" pipe to male 3/4" hose fitting with female 1/2" pipe threads inside of that fitting, then a 1/2" thread to slip PVC fitting and a short piece of 1/2" PVC to make a tube that almost gets to the bottom of the barrel. Air pressure pushes the water out to the misters.
A short garden hose to get from barrel to mister system and of course the "mister system and filter" of your choice.
I have a 2k Honda Genny to run things as needed and can combine the high pressure pump with the air compressor/barrel setup and get very good results.
I wanted something semi to completely independant of the T H water system, so I think I have good results, one uses only the water from the T H, the other uses nothing from the T H.
The portable compressor can be used for other things, the high pressure pump can and will be used on our home system, so that made the prices a little easier to justify.
Good Luck
