The dealer has a lot to do with the sale of this coach. They aren't going to all the work of displaying it, showing it and taking offers out of the goodness of their heart. They, like the financial institution that possibly owns the unit, have a financial stake is the sale.

Also, best times to get the best price is end of the month or better yet, end of quarter. That's when banks etc. are doing their books to show how they have fared. Lots of times you will get the deal simply because they are trying to show a better line for top dollar sales....Dennis

Price,price,price....
Lets realize we're talking about a real nice 08 Newmar DP with really low miles.
This is not a "orphaned" coach, and it is a premium rig. Lets be honest, real deals don't come along every day on a real coach. Anything below 200K is a deal.
Don't lose it over a few $$$ either way...

No one but the dealer cares what they have in that particular RV. They too might not be able to get what they typically would or what they may even need. I open the offer very low. If they ask you anything that sounds like, If I can get it for you at that price, etc. etc., you need to be ready to say nothing other than yes. Having said yes, they might then make a counter. Then walk away and let them call you. (the whole time mumbling about how you're going to call every dealer with that vehicle in the United States for pricing)
I don't like that price. You don't mention the model number, but I'd really look at NADA and every price you can find anywhere on that exact coach.

I understand Newmar will not honor a warranty on a new motorhome that is not sold by a franchised dealer. Before you make an offer call Newmar with the Coach Number (six digit number) and ask if it has the full factory warranty.

Obviously, these things depreciate faster than anyone realizes. So, more the reason to buy at the very lowest figure. Nice find, if that's what you want and can buy it for your price (and with warranty intact).

If I were interested in that Dutch Star, I would offer the $155K.
You never stated if the unit was being sold as
new or used (1700 miles does not mean used). My Camelot was delivered to Texas from Oregon with 1700
miles and delivered as new. Newmar products owners will tell you
49% off MSRP is a very good deal if you can get it.

We called NEWMAR, thanks for that tip, It will have a new coach warranty. They knew where it came from and it is on an MSO (currently held by the bank). We made an offer of $150K drive out which will include an extended warranty (coach & chassis) and TT&L. BTW the post about it being used because of the miles, the coach has only been driven from the plant to the original dealer +231 miles, then to the dealer in Texas. No indication that it was ever sold to a retail customer. When we did the contract the dealer added in $250 for a complete systems check & predelivery service. After I thought about it that seemed like a fair price for the piece of mind that everything works as new before we drive it off the lot. We are waiting on the Bank's response.

Great information.
The advice about offering cash actually hurts the dealer as they often make more money in the closing booth than they do on the product. Having said that, get your financing in order. If you have cash; great! If not, then know what you can get and the interest rates (costs) associated with that money.
Then make a reasonable offer that you expect to be countered. Counter their offer about halfway and you have bought a coach. Make an unreasonable offer and either the dealer will not take it to the financial institution or they will counter with the original listing price.
This is a great time to buy. But an offer still has to be reasonable. Lenders are loosing lots of money, so they will be resistant to even consider offers that are foolish.

Like everything in this world, the value of something is what someone is willing to pay. I hope you get it at your price and it provides many years of enjoyment. The enjoyment that this coach can bring you is worth far more than the asking price. As they say..."you only go around once so you might as well enjoy the ride."
