A little while back a tread was up about the beach being eroded at MBTP. Has anyone been there lately and what is the condition of the beach. We are due in on 1 August and are getting the itch to be there.

Don't know about very recent but we were there in October and the beach was ok. There is a reclamation project in the works but not sure of the limits. I think due to mother nature, that area experiences an ebb and flow of the beach anyway.

Off topic a bit. I'm headed there this weekend and I know that there are many ways to get in and most are packed with traffic on the weekend. What's the best route? For years the family and I have come in through back roads (Lumberton on down) and used 17 for the last few miles but that started getting pretty busy. We started coming in on 501 to 22 for a while.

Any advice will be great.

Thanks

I95 South to North Carolina Exit 14 at Lumberton, to Route 74, to Route 410 towards Chadbourne, to Route 701 towards Tabor City, to Route 9, to Route 31 to Kings Road. You will merge on to Kings Road at the Vanity Fair Outlets and across from Wal-mart just a stones throw from Myrtle Beach Travel Park. This avoids having to travel on Route 17 and saves lots of time. Have a great trip!
