Happened to us numerous times this past weekend. The place we were staying had 4 rows if you will and we were towards the end, maybe half a dozen sites in from the road that connected all the rows.

Wasnt in our camp site but the one next to ours that some women decided she wanted to walk right through, than she proceded to cross through other peoples in the row over and the one after that, from what we could tell, to get to her row.

We saw kids do it also, and once in a while one of them would walk through our campsite and that is far easier to swallow than an adult just strolling right through other people's sites.

Maybe were new to this after only having been camping the past 2 years but I would NEVER just cut through other people's sites just to shorten my trip. Is this "normal" at campgrounds? I mean really taking the road would've made you walk an extra 100 feet. Not meaning to sound anal but cmon personally I would consider it rude and wouldn't do it, and I'm far far far from any kind of PC kinda person.

Could walking thru camp sites be the new walmart rant?

It's becoming more "normal" - I'm glad you're part of the old school, even if you haven't been camping that long! Yes, it is rude. If they walk along the edge of the campsite, especially on the "curb" side (the one with the utilities), that's not unreasonable, especially if they'd have to go way around to stay on the CG road, but when they walk through our "front yard" it bugs me too.

You'll probably hear from some folks who tell you to chill out, but IMO a lot of folks either weren't taught right when they were growing up, or they just don't care about how their actions affect others. I prefer to set a good example.

I agree with you - You don't walk through you walk around but there are some people out there that think they rule and do what they want. Its part of what is wrong now a days some people think they are owed something and will do what they want when they want. In other words they have no manners.

I know at the KOA 1 of the rules is: 'Be Considerate of fellow guests. Do not walk thru any campsites other than your own' We only do a cut thru if the site is empty.

We find it very rude, but there are people out there that think nothing about going through some one elses site if it is shorter way to where they are going.

It is the modern "me first" generation, and in my opinion it is very rude.
My wife or I would never do it, unless the campsite was vacant and no RV in it.

It's rude, but we've never had much trouble with it. One night last winter I did have someone walk into my power cord and unplug it; it was draped about waist high between the pedestal and the camper, 3 feet at the most; now - that's a little too close to be cutting through.
