Yes it is rude, but life is to short to let stuff like this ruffle your feathers!!! I myself will not walk through someones site and my kids were taught to show the same respect, but as I said I wouldn't let it bother me to the point of posting in on a internet forum.

Does NOT happen if someone is there,if they are there, outside, and it will make a big difference, I will ask if it's ok. Even then I hug the edge so as not to intrude.
I usually sprawl out over the whole site and there isn't really room to walk thru without weaving thru the whole thing, but I have never had anyone cut thru without asking

Do any of you ever say anything to them when they are cutting through? We haven't gone on our maiden voyage yet. But I remember my dad telling us to respect other peoples sites & never cut through or bother them in any way. He made sure we were never rude to other campers. I guess I absorbed that lesson because I can tell just from reading this post it's going to aggregate me.

It aggravates me too. I have told kids about it n I'm out there. The only time I ever saw "adults" do it, I was inside the camper, so I was less po'd. I would never except when it's someone from our group and we are all camping together, or the site is vacant.

Last week end we had boy scouts cutting through and there was only 5 foot between our fire and the picnic table. What was unusual was that we were the end site and the other side of us was the camp road. Had to stop twice taking food from the fire to the table as people went through. Parents and kids did the same.

Believe it or not until I became active on this forum I did not know that it was a huge no no to walk thru a site. Will not do it in future but please give some forgiveness to those who do not know.

I feel for you. One time two years ago we had people walk through our site constantly. They would walk right up to our campfire to check out our lunch. Little kids played partially under our bunkends (we have a pop-up). We went inside to get away from them. I went out the door for some reason and here a guy was walking through our site right in front of our door...That means under our awning, and on our outdoor carpet. And no, it wasn't raining. The campground was full. We had booked the last site. People on both sides of us and across the "road" were "together". I don't know why they didn't book sites right next to each other. The weather was perfect, but rude behavior can really ruin a camping trip.
We only got out one time last year. Very enjoyable. We plan a couple this year. Learn what not to do by the behavior of others, and enjoy your next trip out. They can't all be that bad.

It didn't "ruffle my feathers" it was just odd, and we kind of looked at each other like are these people serious. The only reason I posted it was it wasn't just once, it was twice(while we were in front of the camper anyway, and that was adults, kids it was a dozen times or so in the 4days).
I dunno about the whole attidtude nowadays or how people were brought up, but I'm only 30(ok maybe to some on here I'm gramps but damn don't put me in my grave yet, lol).
I dunno, just seemed odd, figure'd maybe I was out of touch or whatever, but judging by the posts I can see it annoy's others also.

While on the gulf coast this spring, I could not believe the adults that walked through my site with my attack poodle laying on her side ten feet from me! I guess she was feeling a third round of Lyme diseases coming on. Other wise they would all have been licked to death!
