Have you all really found sites with only a 50 amp outlet?
Yep, the park we just left. There was no 30 amp plug in the box, had to use my adapter.

Don't have the 50 to 30 adapter but have the 25' extension cord. Haven't used it yet. Came close this last weekend. Also carry extra water hose, which we did need last weekend.

I have all the adapters to fit any situation and use the 50A when the 30A outlet is worn out and loose. I do not have a 30A extension cord. The factory cord is easily 30' long and so far that has been plenty of length for every place I have been. (and I have been to many State and National parks in the Western US) That said, there might just come a time I will wish I had it, (based on some responses here) so I'll put it on my list.

I always keep the 50 amp to 30 amp dog bone in the camper. More and more sites are going to 50 amp. I also carry a 25 foot 30 amp extention. Needed it twice and when we did there was no real place close to get a heavy extention cord so it came in handy.

If you go to a North Dakota Park plan on at least 50' to the post. Often a power pedestal is shared between 2 sites.
I now carry a 12 ga extension cord. The camper has the standard 30 amp plug, but we can easily survive on a 15 amp hook up.
Adapters? I carry 3 plus my heavy extension cord.

Im trying to figure out why you would want a 30 -> 15 other than using your extension cord from a 30 amp pedestal - assuming your rig is a 30 amp service? Any other reason?

You might want to plug in at home, so you need the 15 amp end. Also some older state parks have 15 amp plugs only.

I've had 1 power pedestal where they only have a 30 amp Rv receptacle.
Also some of the regular 15/20 amp receptacles are so beat up the cord won't make a secure connection or the GFCI trips.
A $5 cheap investment to be ready.

Carry a 25' 30amp extension
carry a 50amp to 30amp adaptor
carry a 15 amp to 30 amp adaptor
They don't cost much or take up much space, and you will be glad you have each one day. Not all pedestals have a good 30 amp connection. Many are beat up/burnt up and won't make good contact so the 50amp connection is the best choice.

Fueling around has it right, We carry all the same stuff he does and have used it all in our travels. Even though our fiver is 50 amps we have had to run off 15 amps in some parks.

Sorry I wasnt clear on my post.
If you are trying to adapt to something other than your RV, then that is the reason I was looking for.
I would avoid this for safety reasons. When you are plugged into a 30 amp service and use a 15 amp rated extension cord, you may have a hazard.
You indicated you have a 30 amp plug on your camper. You sound like a good 'Boy Scout'...always prepared.
