arrowvp - even though your 38G is not the model we are looking for I would like to know what you think about your unit anyway - have you been pleased with it and have you had any problems other than the usual break-in issues?
J-Rooster - don't know if the unit you looked at was the one with the bunk bed option or not. That is the one we are looking for and would like to see, but Seattle is a little far to drive just to see it from the eastern part of Texas.
I called Winnebago yesterday and they told me that the closest unit like I wanted was Arizona or Florida. There is a 35Z without the bunk bed option that we are going to look at this weekend just to see the coach.
Guess I may have to end up ordering but sure wanted to get some owner feedback.
Thank you guys for responding.

I think that would be the one with the couch in the bedroom. We are considering that one too and would appreciate any pricing info (after discounts) you can get us. Thanks

from the floor plan the bunks looks very similar to my 35J plan. so I'll offer this.
the bunks are tight heightwise but my 7 and 5 year old don't care. I do when changing the bed linen Winnie needs to add a ladder like the one I built - out of the way and wood matched.
the boys love their space! we added a queen memory foam mattress sliced in half and trimmed to fit the corners. works great over the thin flimsy base mattress. Regular twin sheets fit mostly fine.
The bathroom access with the slide in is just fine. and I think the rear bedroom is the same - with the slide in we can't get at the rear closet. If the doors were 3" higher we'd be fine
however we LOVE our unit. perfect for a family of 4 on rainy weekends.

driveby - thanks for the information. We had looked at the Winnebago Sightseer 35J which is similar to your unit. There were a few things we liked about the Adventurer over the Sightseer but it is certainly good to hear your positive response to your unit.
We just want to actually lay eyes on a 35Z with the bunk bed option before laying out the cash, in case there were some things we did not like. You can't make out some of the details and spacial relationships from wide angle photos and these things are important to us. It was good to hear about some of the things you did with your bunk beds. When it is just the wife and I we will use the bunk bed area for storage.

Austin, we've also had 35J since 2007 and really enjoy it. I've had only a few minor problems, nothing major. If I had to I would buy another in a heartbeat.
Like you finding one in 2006 was next to impossible, we could find every other model of Sightseer and others out there. I wasn't going to buy without being able to see, walk around an inspect. In our case we lucked out, local dealer got one after we had pretty much given up. After going through that I can say that I probably could have based my decision without actually being in one after seeing enough of the other units. The build quality was the same, and features compared equally as well. I think we'll see fewer units stocked in the future so we're going to end up buying without seeing in some cases.
Here are some of my thoughts on the 35Z floorplan:
I don't care for the bathroom door opening, when coming in from the outside you'll need to pass the door to enter, and walk on the carpet to do so. I prefer the 35J layout that opens facing the front, also makes it easier if you use it while traveling.
TV location in the bedroom is a bit odd, and seems hard to see while laying in bed. We hardly watch TV in the bedroom, but ours is located above the 'chest of drawers' area.
I like the larger corner shower, but you might want to check to make sure the location of the sink gives you enough leg room to do your business while on the stool, looks a bit tight to me.
Glad to see they don't use the barrel chair, the Euro chair would be my personal choice.
Does the Bunkbed area have a slide out draw underneath? That area for storage is great, and also most essential IMHO.
Have fun shopping!
