I purchase a Big Country a couple of weeks ago and last week had a carrier low profile 13,500 a/c installed. It made a big difference today when I pulled it home and turned on both a/c. Last week the 15,000 just did not seem to cool during the day.

In Texas with the temperature over 100 you want as big as you can get.

We had Camping World install the Coleman 9000btu Polar Low Profile in our HitchHiker bedroom to compilment the main 15k AC. I choose the 9k AC because I though it would make less noise than the 13K AC unit and though it also would be overkill because the 15k AC does a good job just needed a little help in 90 plus Texas heat.

We added the 13.5 Penguin low profile at the time of purchase. We have not regretted it at all. We leave the bedroom door open during the day to supplement the main ac. We usually leave the bedroom ac off at night, as we don't need it. It will definitely be worth the money in the event your main ac may go down.

How much of a slope do yall have on the roof where the second AC is installed? I called Dometic and they say no more than 8 degrees. I haven't figured it yet but it looks like my Laredo has more slope than that.

I added a 9200 btu unit to the bedroom instead of a 13k or 15k. I did this so I could run the 9200 btu unit off of my Honda 2000 generator when dry camping. The Honda will run the smaller ac. Having said this, we were in Indiana last week having the IS suspension & disk brakes added at Morryde & the temp was 98 degrees. It took a long time to cool down our Jayco Designer using both ac units. So I guess if you never use a small generator & camp where it's really hot, go for the larger unit!
