Does anyone know where I can get a site specific map of the campground maps in Yellowstone? I have a 36' fifth wheel and am finding out what campgrounds I can get into are limited. Canyon, Grant Village and Mammoth appear to be my first choice. I guess I could just reserve what ever site they give me in Fishing Bridge and go try to get a good first come first serve site. I just do not want to leave Oklahoma without having SOMETHING in place. I do not want to stay in Fishing Village due to space between sites.

I know I can book something at Grant Village but would like to see a detailed map of what site I am getting.

Any help would be great.

Brent

Mammoth is first come/first served. I was just there. Arrive early. The hosts are very helpful/selective in assigning rigs to the proper length site as long as they hold out. In other words no popup in a site that would fit your 36 footer unless that was the only site available.
Drive safe....Have fun.

Not sure they will assign specific sites. Check the nps.gov site.

Even a site specific map isn't going to help with the placement of trees, low hanging branches or the grade of the sites in Canyon and some of them at Bay Bridge.

Fishing Bridge would be my last choice of campgrounds because you are on top of each other, but at least you would be in the park.

As you will see here: http://www.nps.gov/yell/planyourvisit/camping-in-yellowstone.htm there aren't that many sites for rigs your size at the first come, first serve campgrounds and if you wait till you get here, you might have problems finding a spot at one of the reservation campgrounds with a rig your size.

Another thing to think about would be location. Grant and Mammoth are not very centrally located. Madison is better for the geyser areas and Bay Bridge is better for the eastern part of the park.

You won't fit in many of the sites at the first come first serve campgrounds.
Yellowstone campgrounds

Your best bet is to make reservations at one of the campgrounds managed by Xanterra. They will ask you the size of your rig and they can tell you right away if they have a site that will accommodate you.

We chose to stay in West Yellowstone due to traveling with a 36' in group. Right outside of park gate and entry fees are not an issue for those of us over 62 (whichever senior pass you may have).
Reservations may be hard to obtain this late in the year.

Agreed, but he might be able to pick up a cancellation or someone's arrival and departure change. In this case I would recommend calling Xanterra frequently right up to the time of your arrival.
