Got the pin box repainted this afternoon....should go back in tomorrow night. I will be reusing the bolts with a little threadlocker on the ploy lock nuts. There are 4 3/4 inch grade 5 bolts. You could spin the trailer around upside down till the cows come home before they will break if properly torqued. The trailer is only 9300 GVW.

Well, I figure I got lucky this evening. I went to pull the pin box off my fiver to drop it to the lower holes in the box frame, and the bolts were loose. Not so much that they rattled or that the box would move yet, but it took zero effort with a wrench to loosen them. The nuts are poly locks, so they may have been fine for awhile, but I will feel so much better when they are reinstalled and TIGHT. So....always check the hardware!!!

Great post. I check ours but only in 2001 were the nuts loose.
thanks
