Good advice given so far. Beware of the heavy contruction on I-294 with very long travel times.
There is also a Yogi Bear CG up in Caledonia WI that is not so far away from Vernon Hills.

Fox Den would be a lower cost as well as closer for you. Here you have to be back to the Park by 11:30PM when the gates lock up.
