ANY membership club is only good IF you use it! I found that we were not staying in Good Sam Parks, and I wasn't buying all that many parts/accessories from participating dealers, and the magazine really wasn't all that exciting, so I allowed my membership to expire.
I simply wasn't getting anything out of being a member.
Considering the type of camping that we do, nearly all in State Parks or USFS campgrounds, none of the other membership clubs have much to offer, either.
Maybe someday...

The answer depends on what you are looking for.

Discounts?
There are many organizations that do it and some are better.

Nationwide club?
Good Sam puts on a national rally every year and each state puts on rallies. Ohio has three state rallies per year. I also belong to a local chapter which has an event every month. Also included is a monthly magazine and consumer advocate service. Escapees also has a great club, I don't know which would be better.

This question has been asked many times and a search will give you lots of reading.

p.s. hope you are still enjoying that new trailer and my old hitch.

I did a search & came up with mostly treads regarding insurance & road side.

I'm mainly looking for what will give me the best discounts. I did some research on passport america & found that most of the places I looked do not offer the 50% discount during the summer months. So unless there is something I'm missing I can't use them. I'll do some research into some of the other ones that have been mentioned.

We haven't even gone out in the new trailer yet. It has been raining here since the 1st week of June. I feel like I should trade in the Roo for an ark. We had booked a place for this weekend but just cancelled because you guessed it. It's going to rain. So far the hitch is terrific. I've hooked up a couple times now & am getting pretty good at it. Thanks again for all your help with that.

I have used the Good Sam discount a couple of times but find that many of the Good Sam parks will give me the same discount for AAA or AARP or other things I already belong to

Another "Camping membership" is membership campgrounds.. I will talk about one or two of those (I belong to two) The one I'm sitting in cost me a bit less than 2,000 to join and 90/quarter to maintain. so, let's see how far 90 dollars gets me at a local KOA: Answer. 2 night at 43 dollars a night 86 bucks, plus tax.

I can spend 2 weeks in this park and then move on to the other membership park, That membership cost me about 2500 (more parks in the system) and about 150/quarter.. Ok 3 1/2 nights at the KOA,, I scan stay there two weeks than have to spend one week out of the system.

Just a week, in either CG and I've paid my dues for the quarter.. This is my 4th or 6th week in this CG this summer (We just went full time) So.. I'm saving my original investment fairly fast.

Consider membership camping.. If you do, please PM me as... well we do get paid for referrals in one way or another.

Disadvantage.. If you only spend 2 weeks a year camping.. it is kind of pricy

NOTE: of course neither the one I am at or the other one has campgrounds EVERYWHERE, plus this one is only in Michigan, no sites in, say Las Vegas (The other one has those)

But I can belong to Camp Coast to Coast (One of the sponsors here) or Resorts Parks International (More or less the same type of outfit) and for an additional 50/year plus a small (Currently 13 bucks a night I think) nightly fee I can use OTHER membership parks for up to a week at a time.

Very nice. Very very nice. OH, I'm fully hooked up, 50 amps, water, sewer and cable TV where I'm parked.

Could the America The Beautiful Senior Pass help any? I've seen some wonderful parks VERY cheap. I know it's not a RV Club or what-have-you. I'm retired Air Force and have the Access version. Thought I'd share.

One thing I noticed about Passport America 50% discount. Most RV parks give you 2 nights for price of one, hence 50% off. What if you only want one night?

I found the same thing and wasn't planning on joining Good Sam our first year, but I bought Camping World membership because I knew I would be buying a lot of accessories. When I signed up, there was an offer to join Good Sam through Camping World for only $12. Plus they would give me a $10 Camping World gift certificate. Since that basically covered the cost of membership, I joined.

We stayed at one Good Sam site once so far, but they basically gave us the 10% off without really looking at the membership card anyway. That means I basically paid $2 for a sticker that I probably won't be sticking on my trailer anyway . If I find that we use it more this year, I'll renew--otherwise I won't.

I also bought a KOA membership for $24 because we're planning at least a couple of trips there.

Good Sam is all about love. If you're lonely because you don't get much mail, they can solve that problem for you. All of it comes in oversized envelopes with your name and address printed all over everything and designed to NOT fit in a shredder. And, like AARP, they'll love you forever. In fact, if you don't renew, they'll send even more junk mail, complete with plastic membership cards with "your name here" printed on them.
