Always out. Even if we didn't put it out all the time, I would check it periodically for mildew or mold if it is left rolled up all the time.

We have never extended any of the awnings in the 3 years we have owned our MH.

There is only two times that we use our awning, when it's raining or when the sun is shinning.

We always put it out, except sometimes if we arrive late at night - then I put it out the next day. Provides shade, rain protection, and keeps "tree droppings" off stuff if we are in a heavily wooded area. At some heavily wooded campgrounds, the amount of "stuff" falling from trees can be impressive.
We rarely put the campsite picnic table under the awning, they usually take up too much room. On rainy days we have the chairs and small tables setup under it for relaxing, and use the large U-shaped dinette in the camper for meals if necessary.

Up here it rains... a lot! So, we use our awning pretty much every trip. Even if it's not raining I usually put it out for a few hours to dry off and help prevent mildew/mold growth. That is until it gets too windy (seems to happen a lot too).

I usually put our awning out unless it's just an overnighter. I like the protection it provides underneath from rain, dew, tree droppings, etc. I also LOVE sitting under it during a light rain, sipping on a relaxing beverage - so peaceful! In the summer, it helps keep the sun/heat off our large dinette window, and that side of the TT in general.
I roll it back up the night before we leave, while it's dry (hopefully!), to avoid the morning dew.
Happy travels!

To help keep chiggers, ticks, tree sap, and bird droppings from falling onto us.
In direct sun, it helps cool that side of the trailer -- where our fridge is located.

Not a lot. Also, we do not use awning lights (way too tacky for me).
