First post on the site! First timeRV owner, so I am sure you will here from me a lot more.

We have a leak in the toilet valve and I purchased a new one to replace. Do you all suggest changing without removing the toilet, or taking the toilet off the floor?

I would suggest removing the toilet.
You didn't say which model. Some like the Glaxay has corrosion problems on the mechanism. If really rusted that should be changed. However it is expensive and a new toilet maybe in order.
If an Aqua Magic IV, then inspect the cables as they fray and may need to replaced while you are there.

If you have room do it in place.

The one I replaced I did it with the toilet installed. I just removed the foot flush mechanism or whatever it is called to access the valve itself. Was a very easy change on the toilet assembly I had.
