Ranger and Titan sales up in June. Off for the year, but June was a good month for those two. Ford looks to be improving dales wise too. Not a horrible month considering the economy.

For 2009 Toyota Tundra Trucks at #6 really took a dive of -52% over last YTD, while Ford #1 and Chevy #2 actually did better at -39% and -36% over last year. Dodge did OK at #3 and only -38% over 2008's sales. The Nissan Titan actually placed #10 in sales, with -52.8 over last years sales.

If GM would, in the name of efficiency, dump one line of their redundant trucks and just sell GMC (#5 selling truck) or Chevy (#2) they would outsell Ford by 10% or so. Duh!

You mean -29%? On the May you linked.

When I was shopping Dodge was actually trying to sell pickups. Discounts of $13-14K. Chevy was less than $7k.

Yep, actually drove to all of these places---in the last eight years. Missed Rhode Island and New Jersey.

First time in 50 years Ford of Canada was #1 in car and truck sales! The blue oval is on it's way...great trucks, and a line-up of cars coming, no wonder...oh, and the quality thing too, we're no longer catching up, they are the leaders!

I hope they all can do well, maybe give a little more "job security" across the country. I agree that GM ought to either go with GM or Chevy, it's stupid to have the GM/Chevy thing going, but again, may just be one more reason they're in the shape there in and too stupid to see the forest for the trees.

Luke the Dodge discount was with the employee pricing added in also. GM/Chevy was about the same discount here in town as Dodge and Ford.

With Chrysler not scraping the PT it looks like we are going to add a full secound shift and I might even get to go back to the Tool Room instead of painting anything that doesn't move at the Plant.

GM cannot discontinue Buick because of the reputation and great number of sales in China which has now become the largest car market in the world. The fear is that the Chinese would then consider Buick a second rate product, not good enough for the American market. Buick dealers cannot survive without trucks filling out the line and giving them enough product to remain viable. Or so goes the logic.

I agree with your post, guess I should have been more specific. I was talking more along their truck line. I believe they should either build the Chevrolet or the GM or a GM Chevrolet. Badging two different trucks, to me, is a waste of money, but what do I know, I didn't get any stimulus package, then declare bankruptcy, and get away with both
