I don't know if this has already been posted. Read in "Diesel Power" magazine dated May 2009 page 27 (sorry I don't how to highlight the artical for internet use), I am sure they have a webb site and some one on this forum can do this for those interested. There are two small articles, the first one say's they are both parting ways and who is going to build Ford's next diesel engine? Well, Ford of course, Ford will debut an all-new 6.7 V-8 diesel in its' 2010 Super Duty trucks. The new 6.7L engine (code name Scorpion)
Second small article say's "Ford And Navistar Settle" The battle over diesel-engine supply has ended- Ford & Navistar have reached an agreement to restructure their ongoing business realtionship and settle all existing litigation. The current contract will end December 31. It goes on a little bit more on each article, I hope someone on forum will help those interested to find it on the webb. I am not a Ford basher, I currently own two F150 Ford gasers & one Dodge Diesel.

About 2011 we will know if the new 6.7L engione has a better reliability record than the 6.0 and 6.4L. Hopefully, equal to or better than the 7.3L. If so I will trade up.

Ford will do really well if they would go back too the 7.3 with a 6 speed tranny.

I don't think the 7.3L can meet today's emmissions standards for new trucks

Dont think so either thats why the 6.0 and then 6.4 was because of emmissions. Basically the only emmissions thing on the 7.3 had to do with the glow plugs and maybe the EBPV to help it warm up quicker.

If Ford had maintained it's system of having International design, build and supply the "entire" engine as in the 7.3 instead of having heads and ancilliary equipment of injectors, wiring looms even rubber head bolts coming from anywhere and everywhere perhaps the 7.3 would now be up to 2010 emissions.

I wish them the best and hope they can get the diesel engine right finally, but it's still alot safer to just go with Dodge or GM instead of rolling the dice with Ford.

None of the Big 3 have ever had much success building Diesels, that's why Dodge has a Cummings, GM has the Duramax (Isuzu) and Ford has the International. I hope Ford success but I wouldn't hold my breath.
