I have the old-style aluminum vane windows in my TT.

They're made up of pieces of aluminum extrusion.

In several areas there are places where a soft plastic/rubber seal is inserted into the extrusion to keep out water.

There appear to be two types - one used where two surfaces meet, and one used to form a little eyebrow over the hinge area at the topmost window segment.

I'd sure like to get a big roll of this stuff and change out all my seals while I have the windows out (just about ready to paint and then reseal the whole rig)

Anyone know what it's called and where I can get it?

Take some pictures and contact some of these RV Salvage yards...often they can search their bases of other Salvage yards to find the item you want.

I know exactly what you are talking about, my first TT (1981 Terry Taurus) had the exact same type of seals. Many were in bad shape, never looked into actually replacing them though.

While you might find some in salvage yards as suggested, the chances are they will fall apart trying to get them out of the old windows and rather slim chance that you will find exact seals and lengths.

One of the more popular RV window manufacturer is Hehr(sp).

Check the corners of the glass in your windows, since the glass should be tempered it should bear the name of the manufacturer etched into the glass.

You could try a search for them to see if you can contact them directly.

With that said, I would suggest contacting ALL-RITE, they may have the exact type of seal material you need. If they don't they may be able to custom manufacture some for you.

Do be aware, this won't be cheap.

All-rite seems to have exactly what I need.

I believe I have Hehr windows - there were H stickers on the glass on the two small ones.

I have to do some more looking, but the top vent and bottom vent seals on the Window Parts page look like exactly what I need to replace.

Plus, they seem to carry all that old-style plastic screw trim that I'd like to replace someday around the windows and hatch doors.

Very cool. Thanks!

Glad that was helpful!

Somewhere I have an old pricing book from All Rite, had to pay $5 to get it. When I got it my jaw hit the floor for the pricing...

But if it is the only place and you need the part it might be worth forking out the money.
