I have to replace my 5 yr old Pace Edwards Jackrabbit bed cover, and am looking at the Retrax and RollBAK. I am wondering -
1 - If you have either cover, and how it is working for you?
2 - How long have you had it, and have you had any problems?
3 - Why you chose that cover?
4 - Does it keep the rain out?
5 - How does it function in the freezing winter weather?
6 - Do you like the way it locks?

Please provide any additional information which you think would be helpful.

Thanks,

I have a retrax about 7 years old. Open and closes nice. HOWEVER, it has had a crack through the lexan for the last 2 years, should be split in two in a few more miles. Not sure if I would buy again.

I have had a Retrax for about 5 years. It does leak but I haven't figured out where the water is coming in. I like the cover very much and haven't had any problems with it.

I have the retrax, it is a year old. I really like that you can lock it in any place along the rails, it keeps out the rain, and I did not have any problems last winter, but we do not have bad winters here. I would buy another if I changed trucks. I looked at several, but the retrax seemed to work smoother, and it still does. I think it will add value to my truck if I have to sell it.

I am looking into the covers for two reasons. One is for my F250.

I contacted Retrax about your crack, and was told this is a warranty issue. They gave me a person and number for you to contact. If this turns out to be replaced under warranty, that speaks a lot about this company.

PM me an email address, and I will send her email to you. Once you speak to them, I think we would all appreciate knowing how it turned out.

Thanks,

1.I have Retrax and I am 100% satisfied.
2. Four years with no problems.
3. I chose it because of the recommendations of owners on this forum.
4. I have never had a leak. I have a corn furnace and often store up to 1500 lbs of corn under it (which helps with traction plowing snow) and have never had any of it get wet.
5. I would love to tell you it never freezes, but the bottom line is it does occasionally. Usually it is because of water freezing on the top, but any that roll will occasionally freeze.
6. I like the fact that it can be locked in any position.
