2007 10 gal atwood water heater runs 155 -160 degree should be 140 degree tried 2 new thermostats still to hot tried adjustable one it worked for a short time then one time
to cold next time ok could not keep it adjusted any one have answer runs same on gas or elec

I think they are made to run Hot. That way the hot lasts longer when mixing with cold water, effectively making the tank seem bigger.

Be sure the thermostat is firmly in contact with the tank. Otherwise it will not sense the temp properly.

A lot of the newer water heaaters are rated at 16 gallon but they are actually 10 gallon. They make the heater heat to a higher temp and then use a mixing valve on the hot water outlet of the tank to mix in cold water. Thus you get more capacity out of a 10 gallon tank. That is what my last 5er and the one I have currently do.
Check your info on your trailer and see if it is advertised as a 16 gallon.
