I can go camping and you can bet that one out of four nights that thing will go off. Has anyone had a problem like this? We were up most of the night last night with it.

Carpet cleaner...fabreeze..things like that will set it off.... also...my parents have a dog....and something they sprayed on him....everytime he would go lay by it...it would go off.
I guess it is possible that it could be faulty.

My gas detector would go off last fall when everything would be shut up for a period of time. It was 4 years old.

I called the Mfg. and they told me if it is over 4 years old to replace it. It cost around 80 bucks plus shipping. It hasn't gone off since.

A friend's went belly up a while ago, it wouldn't shut off. When he got the replacement, he wired it with an exposed in-line fuse so if it happens again, he can just pull the fuse and go back to bed in peace and quiet.

I'm fairly certain that's what came with our rig. After 2 yrs of fulltiming, it started with the frequent false alarms. I replaced with a "Safe T Alert" detector, no more problems.
