I'm pulling a 30 ft Sunline toyhauler @ 8000 lbs.
Most of my campsites are in open, grassy fields.
It gets a might humid in south Mississippi.
My current TV tires are Michelin LTX on an 06 Dodge Ram 2500.
The tires tend to spin on wet grass. I'm looking for something with a little more bite, but I don't want to give up too much in the way of noise.
I'm looking at an All-Terrain tire by:
BF Goodrich
Toyo
Opinions?
Other options?
I appreciate y'alls input.

That's interesting because I always thought that I would go the other way and get the Michelin LTX M&S. I have a 2004.5 4x4 CTD Dodge that came with the Goodrich Rugged Terrain tires on it (some came with the LTXs on them and I wish mine did too). I have hated them because they are always picking up small 3/8-1/2 inch stones in the tread. Many of them stay there until I pluck them out with a screwdriver and many of them going flying and end up chipping off paint all down my rocker panels, even with the Dodge mudflaps that I put on to stop that. They also load up quickly with any minor off-road activity from my experience.
Just today I discovered that there are many small slits and cracks down around the sidewall of these tires so I need to replace them now because I'm leaving on a cross country trip with a TC and a cargo trailer in tow. I'm not chancing anything with all that weight and running the rockies. This truck only has 34k miles on it and it sits in the garage most of its life so the UV exposure is minimal for it. It only comes out when I need a truck like for (TC)camping or moving our 8,000lb in or out of the water. I'm not happy at all with the performance of these tires, although there is plenty of tread left on them. I have probably had 20 sets of Michelins on various vehicles from cars to vans/pickups to 40ft motorhomes and I always end up removing whatever is on the vehicle and putting Michelin on. I go with what has worked for me and it appears I am about to go that route again.

I really like Toyo tires. I always had the Open Country tires until I decided I want some over the top load ratings (3870 lbs) and bought the Mud Country tires this time around. I think they look a lil too aggressive for my tastes but all my friends (and my 15 year old son) love the look. I have been very happy with the performance so far.

Look into the Hankook RF10s. I was a not sure about them at first, but after reading a lot of good reviews I decided to try them on my dually.
I am really impressed. Great tire at a decent price and in an E rating.

I run the BFG All Terrain KO tires on my truck and really like them. Have gotten a lot of miles out of them and they have good off road grip without "singing" on the highway. They also have a pretty high load rating as well....but they are not cheap.

I have BFG KO on my truck now. They seem to wear ok and aren't noisy but I'm less than impressed with traction on ice/snow and dirt.
I have some Firestone Destination A/T size 305 70 16 load range E on order. The Firestone store made me a deal I couldn't pass up .. ~ $800 down the road for 4 including a lifetime alignment.

I second the vote for the Nitto Terra Grapplers. I have had them on for a year and drove through snow, sand, grass you name it. I pull a 40ft toy hauler and they do great.

I have the Terra Grapplers and they are great performance tires. The only problem I have is the rears tend to wear down too quickly. I know I am kind of a lead foot but it seems like the don't even make it to the next oil change without going near bald in the back.
Today I am replacing the rears with GoodYear Silent Armors. My last truck I had Wranglers and they would last 30K miles so I hope to get the same out of these.

I had those Michelin's on my Durango back when I had it. They wear great. I think I had 70,000 miles on those tires. I didn't drive where I needed grip but, as said above they spin - wouldn't surprise me a bit. They'll outlast your rig probably.
I've got the BFG's now and love them. Wear well and grip good.
A bud has some other tires on his truck and has wore them out in about 20,000 miles. I want to say they are the Nitto's but, I'm not 100% sure. BTW - my trailer weight is at least twice what his is and I tow more than he does.
