Hi Guys,

We have a decorative stripe decal on the backside of our trailer that has peeled around the top and bottom edges (the stripe is about 2" wide); frankly, I'd like to just peel off about 3ft of this; which would leave that side looking great and no one would know I peeled a little off. I rubbed my thumb over some of the peeled up areas and they flaked off; just curious if anyone has used something for such purposes? I can think of Goo Gone, but I don't want the other design stripes that are below this one by a couple of inches to loosen up as a result of Goo Gone running.

The outside of our trailer is siding.

Thanks.

Goo-Gone may loosen it up. A hair dryer may help. Auto supply stores sometimes have chemicals to remove those.

A heat gun and a plastic scraper should do it. The professionals use a thing called an eraser wheel that is like a big rubber eraser that you chuck into a drill motor. You can buy them at some auto spply stores and at businesses that serve the automotive paint shops.

If the decal side has been exposed to the sun a lot (which is probably what caused the damage) you are likely to find that you can still see where it was after removing it.

They sell an electric decal remover(i have one)Its a heat gun with a razar blade at the end that heats up.Removes the decal very nicely. And doesn`t harm the surface of the trailer.I`am in the proccess now of removing old and fading decals, and this thing works wonderfully.I believe it cost 20 bucks.

I just got thru removing all my stripes. I used a dull razor then a commercial cleaner called Big Red, put it in a spray bottle, sprayed it on let it sit for 5 mins. then rinsed it off. Totally amazed. Good Luck I tried everything then my friend came over with the whatcha doing and brought me some Big Red.

The area where the decal is will have the shadow of the removed decal as the sun has not bleached out the color under it.

We had a huge prowler lite decal on the front of our TT, with the outline of a prowler there as well. It looked awful, peeling around all the edges. We tried everything (goo gone, scraping, etc) and then our camping neighbor suggested using a hair dryer. Thank God for him! What had taken over 2 hours to remove 3 letters took less than 20 minutes for all the rest. Give it a try, hopefully it works for you like it worked for us!
