I'm probably asking for something that doesn't exist, but thought I'd ask anyway.

Does anyone know of a campground or rv park in the Sierras or other Central/SoCal mountains that has the following:

- elevation of 6000-9000 ft, i want to get out of the heat
- camping under/around lots of trees
- accessible with a 40ft 5th wheel (this is probably the dream killer)
- preferably a state or national park, but a real nice rv park might work too
- I don't need hook-ups and actually prefer areas that are a bit on the primitive side
- website?

Don't know about the size limitations but start with:

Silver Lake, Oh Ridge, Grant Lake in the June Lake area but even in summer it gets nicely hot but cools down really nice in the evenings. Also Golden Pine RV Park in June Lake.

SoCal Mountains: Did you check:

Green Valley Lake RV Park or Holloways Park in Big Bear?

Also, don't negate the central coast with the cool ocean air breezes:

Morro Bay State Park

Check RVParkReviews for other ideas in areas you wish to visit.

Inyo National Forest in the Eastern Sierra surely has some sites which will meet your needs. I'll leave you to check the Maximum Vehicle Length item for each campground.

Close to Mammoth in the Sierra's is Inyo/Sherwin Creek a national forest camp and they have some large sites we are a 35 ft MH and tow a Dodge Dakota and fit nicely and there were a few larger sites this camp has restrooms only pit type in a permit building and they were clean there is a water outlet at the entrance that will allow you to fill tanks, lots of pine trees and a stream for fishing. Have fun

Lake Mary in Mammoth has it ALL. 9200'/lot's O trees/40'er's in a few locations. Check out the pictures here.. I believe reservations are made through Reserve America, but don't quote me on that. Those pic's are seen year round there, even during the late summer. It's gotta be the prettiest place on earth, bar none!!

See ya out there!!
