Any experience/suggestions with campgrounds in the Florence Oregon area greatly appreciated. We are trying to put a piece of our trip together.

I suggest Jessie M. Honeyman State Park located about 3 miles south of Florence, but only if you can get a reservation. There was an earlier posting about private accommodation in Florence about a week ago so perhaps try a search on Florence, Or. in this forum.
Good luck,

Agreed, Honeyman is very nice but if full there is a private one on the left as you drive north to Florence....can't remember the name but it was OK +/- just before you get to Lawrence of Florence camel ride......
We have also stayed in town at a mobil home park that has a few sites....it is on the right after you pass the road to Eugene.

Aprox 4 mi S of flor is Douglas Co camp ground on the right if headed S 15.00
Full hook or stay at the marina across the road for
10.00 no hook ups but has a dump and fresh water
Very good crabing and fishing from shore. Makes a good base to work from to see the area.

I agree with Honeyman or any Oregon state park, providing you can get a spot without a reservation. We also stayed at a RV camp south of Florence a couple of years ago. I believe it is called Lake Woahnik (sp?) RV. Nice park with about 70 spaces with the dunes on one side and Lake Woahnik immediately across Hwy 101. Have a nice trip, as Florence is a very nice town to visit with lots to do including a nice, friendly Elks lodge.
