Talk about expensive! I ran into something over the 4th of July, where all campgrounds in Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge were full and had no vacancies. I did run into a deal that only 7 day reservations still existed and since I could only stay 3 nights, it cost me $317. That was all I could do, since no one had any space. When I got there I could see empty spaces everywhere. Just another ripoff.

We just returned from lake george in upstate ny. We were charged $54 base and $6 per child extra.
$78 to stay at a campground is rediculous. I spoke to the manager and he stated we supply alot of amendities. I said who owns the camper, it
would wiser to stay at a resort. Never go back there again. I thought rape was a physical violation.

Try camping in the Keys during the "on season". We saw prices from $75 - $100 per night. I don't like paying those prices but the $100 a night was fantastic in Key Largo with the sun setting on Florida Bay.

In New England we have paid $35-45 base rate a night and have also paid $50 plus base rate at a few. There are nice campgrounds for $20-25 but we tend to like the pools, hot tubs and the other extras.

If the RVer continues to pay the exhorbitant prices - the prices will continue to go up. If boondocking in high priced areas is not an option, then there is nothing in the area I really need to see.

I'm not frugal - I'm cheap.
