The U.S. Department of the Interior operates a Web site -- www.recreation.gov -- where you can find useful information on public recreation opportunities nationwide. Included are park listings, museums, monuments, landmarks and more. Fees, accommodations and services are also listed along with links; reservations can be made online.
New Plans for Traveland USA
Traveland USA, a huge multidealership in Irvine, California, plans to relocate to a new site in late 2005 or early 2006, according to Chief Operating Officer Dave Farwell. The facility, which has been at the same location for 30 years, will be combined with a new upscale RV resort somewhere in Orange County. For more information: www.TravelandUSA.com.
Island-Themed Luxury Sites
Caribbean Bay Club LLC plans to open the first of 598 island-themed luxury motorhome sites in North Venice, Florida, early next year. Lots in the new resort, being constructed on the lakeside site of the former Stay-N-Play RV Resort, are selling for $150,000 to $300,000. For details: caribbeanbayclub.com.
FamilyFun Teams With Go RVing
In an unusual twist for a book tour, one of the editors of the new FamilyFun Vacation Guides packed up her family and hit the road in a new Jayco Greyhawk, courtesy of Go RVing. Workhorse's Fall '03 Rally
The newly formed Workhorse Chassis Motorhome Club has set its fall rally dates for November 10-14 at Beaudry RV Resort in Tucson, Arizona. The rally will feature vendor displays, visits to nearby attractions, and seminars about the Workhorse chassis, microwave cooking and RV safety.
