In a twofold effort to increase interest in shoulder season camping and lure first-time campers, about 60 private campgrounds and RV parks in California are offering two nights of camping for $50 on the first weekend of October.
"More than 60 parks are participating in this promotion from virtually every region of the state," Debbie Sipe, executive director of the California Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds, which organized the promotion, said in a news release.
A complete list of parks participating in the Oct. 2-4 promotion can be found at the association’s Web site.
The $50 deal includes a tent or RV site for 4 people with full hookups (or if unavailable, at least water and electricity). The participating park may extend the offer to other types of accommodations, such as cabins and teepees. Reservations are required.
