Winnebago Expands
Winnebago Industries Inc. is expanding its hardwoods facility in Charles City, Iowa. The new 37,500-foot addition will facilitate meeting the increased demand for solid-wood residential-style cabinetry in the company’s motorhomes.
RV Industry Keeps Consumers Satisfied
The RV industry is maintaining strong overall consumer satisfaction, according to a recent study commissioned by the Go RVing Coalition’s Committee on Excellence. Nearly three-fourths of the responding motorhome owners were completely or very satisfied with their overall RVing experience, according to the survey firm, RoperASW.
Blue Bird Extends Warranty
Blue Bird Corporation’s Wanderlodge Division has extended the warranty on its M380 motorhome to a five-year/three-year limited warranty on all 2003 and 2004 models, according to Kenneth Barnes, manager of Wanderlodge Customer Service. For Wanderlodge information: www.blue-bird.com/products/coach.
Go RVing Keeps on Rolling
Go RVing’s new "Pursue Your Passions" national advertising campaign is delivering excellent results. With the new ad campaign acting as a catalyst, the RV industry is expected to have another successful year. Industry forecasts suggest RV shipments are expected to be the third highest in a quarter century at 304,500 units, with shipments anticipated to strengthen in the last half of 2003 and into 2004. Fleetwood Holds First Rally
More than 160 Fleetwood RVs and 30-plus vendors were present at the first international Club Fleetwood rally this summer in Sedalia, Missouri. The club provides Fleetwood owners with a forum for fun, education and community. The next rally is scheduled for April 19-23, 2004, at the Beaudry RV Resort in Tucson, Arizona. Kellogg Passes Away
Thomas Kellogg died in a Newport Beach, California, hospital at age 71, due to injuries sustained in an auto accident. Kellogg, who was perhaps best known for his work on the Studebaker Avanti, also designed motorhomes, recreational vehicles, boats, exteriors for RollsRoyce and Porsche, the interior of the DC-10 aircraft, and the shuttlecraft for the original Star Trek TV series.
